剛到台灣時，完全沒想到我會留那麼久，
When I first arrived in Taiwan, I never imagined I would stay so long.
本來只想說要待個一年，有個經驗就好...
I thought I would be an experience to brag about at parties back in the UK.
等到工作變成必須從早到晚坐在電腦前、盯著螢幕，
It's not until your job requires you to sit in front of a computer all day
才會知道可以跟小孩們互動一整天多幸福。
that you realise how lucky you were to have been a teacher all these years.
這份工作讓我認識到許多台灣非常優異的學生，
This job gave me a fascinating look into the world of the highest acheiving students in Taiwan.
我看見他們為了得到收穫而努力，也看見台灣的小孩學習壓力多大...
I saw how hard these children worked and how much they achieved and how much pressure Taiwaness children are under.
非常佩服這些孩子們的奮發向上，也覺得很幸運能擁有這個經驗。
I have so much admiration for how hard these children worked and I feel very lucky to have had this experience.
